A note on
melanoma accuracy
I'd like to point out that "accuracy" can have different meanings. Specifically, when talking about diagnosing melanomas, it is important to consider two aspects: how many melanomas are being missed, and how many benign lesions are being excised unnecessarily on suspicion of melanoma. This subtlety cannot be expressed in a single number.
